SAUDI TOURISM DASHBOARD
In 2025 | built a Saudi Tourism Dashboard in Power BI.
This project analyzes provincial tourism performance and spending trends over multiple years.Here are the questions I was interested in answering:
1- Which province recorded the highest number of tourists?
2- How does inbound tourism compare to domestic tourism?
3- What are the yearly spending trends by tourism type?
4- How has COVID-19 impacted tourism growth in Saudi Arabia?
5- What is the average length of stay by tourism type?I took the following steps to create my analysis:
1- Pulled and prepared raw tourism datasets, including provincial, spending, and time-series data.
2- Cleaned and transformed the data using Power Query to ensure accuracy.
3- Designed KPIs at the top of the dashboard for quick insights (total tourists, total spending, average stay, overnight stays).
4- Created dynamic visuals including line charts, bar charts, and pie charts to highlight trends and comparisons.
5- Built slicers for provinces and years to allow filtering across all visuals.
6- Applied consistent formatting, icons, and a green theme aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.Here are my key takeaways:
1- Makkah recorded the highest number of tourists in 2024.
2- Domestic tourism accounted for the majority of visits compared to inbound tourism.
3- Spending trends showed steady growth, peaking in 2024.
4- The COVID-19 period in 2020 caused a sharp decline, followed by a strong recovery.
5- Average nights stayed vary by province, with some regions showing significantly longer stays.The dashboard is fully interactive, allowing stakeholders to explore insights dynamically through slicers and filters.
